THE URGENCY AND IMPORTANCE OF OUR MISSION
Since the recent economic crisis and the resulting rise in unemployment, Houston and its neighboring communities have been greatly affected. In particular, a large number of unemployed migrant workers have taken up residence around the Chinatown area. In the past, these migrant workers have been unable to make a livable income to support themselves and their families. The nation’s economic downturn has greatly exacerbated their dilemma and we as Christians can no longer ignore their needs. Throughout Scripture, we see a clear command from God to care for the poor.
